A well-earned retirement

Chris Claybaker said he isn’t retiring. “[Berryville Mayor Tim McKinney] fired me,” Claybaker said Friday during a retirement reception at Berryville City Hall, adding some levity to the proceedings. “He said I was getting too ugly in my old age and there wasn’t enough room for both of us.”

Governors working together

Today I’d like to talk about a recent partnership with the state of Oklahoma. On Wednesday, Aug. 17, I joined Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt on the Oklahoma State University-Tulsa campus to sign a Memorandum of Understanding stating that we are working together to make the Arkansas- Oklahoma corridor a center of excellence in advanced mobility. This includes autonomous vehicles, drone deliveries and electric vehicles.

Senior Center Menu

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.
