Berryville High School sophomore Malachi Houghton took first place in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at the Anstaff Relays on Wednesday, April 6, in Green Forest. Houghton finished the 1,600-meter race in 5:02.08 and the 3,200 meters in 11:03.50.

The Green Forest Tigers won a pair of 3A West conference soccer games on the road last week, defeating Life Way Christian and Thaden by identical 7-1 scores on Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6.

Five or six runs is a big inning for a high school baseball team, but the Green Forest Tigers went way beyond that in a victory over Lead Hill on Monday, April 3.

The Berryville Lady Bobcats are on the board. Senior Mia Thurman scored Berryville’s first goal of the season and the Lady Bobcats made it hold up for a 1-1 tie against the Springdale junior varsity on Thursday, March 30.

The Green Forest Lady Tigers softball team picked up four wins last week, sweeping a doubleheader from Bergman on Monday, March 27, then beating Omaha the next day before losing to West Fork last Thursday. The Lady Tigers beat Huntsville on Saturday, April 1.

The Green Forest Tigers showed off their offensive punch in a 10-0 victory over Bergman on Tuesday, March 28, led by four goals from Boris Tobar and three from Diego Martinez. “I was impressed with my kids and the composure they kept throughout the game,” Green Forest coach Adam Richter said.
