The often-controversial Eureka Springs City Advertising and Promotion Commission is officially looking for a new tourism director. Madison Dawson, who had served as tourism director since August 2021, resigned from the position Jan.

CS Bank’s annual donation of its downtown branch facility’s parking lot to local organizations, civic organizations and non-profits raised $38,539.60 in 2022 according to Jason F. Tennant, president, and chief lending officer.

The Berryville Congregation of Community of Christ Church is now accepting applications for its 2023 Community Enrichment Grant opportunities.

Scholarships are now available for eligible Arkansas students through Arkansas Community Foundation. The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at twoor four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is serv-d at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.

Green Forest School District superintendent Matt Summers said Monday that there was no viable threat at the high school on Friday, Jan. 27, although law enforcement presence at the school was increased and about half the school’s students were absent.

The Berryville School Board approved a one-year extension to superintendent Owen Powell’s contract at its regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 23.
