Flag Anniversary

Daughters of the American Revolution participated with Holiday Island Elks Lodge 1042 for the 245th Anniversary of the American flag on June 11. The celebration and ritual included Elks Lodge officers and members, Boy Scout Troop No. 67 and the Daughters of the American Revolution. The American Legion posted the American flags. Calvillo joins CS Bank as lender

Cindy Inman, senior vice president and CS Home Mortgage Division manager for CS Bank, has announced the hiring of Sheila Calvillo as home mortgage lender for the local bank’s Berryville office. Calvillo is a native of Berryville, where she lives with her husband and their two daughters.

Flint Street fundraiser

A fundraiser for the Flint Street food bank was held June 10 at the Ozark Mountain Hoedown in Eureka Springs. Two tables of non-perishable food items and $863 in cash and checked were raised and presented to the food bank. Senior Center Menu

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.

Local students honored at UAFS

Several Carroll County students have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, the school has announced. Local students named to the Dean’s List are Marco Garcia Montes, Natalie Roy al and Samantha Witherby, all of Berryville; Hayden Nance of Eureka Springs; and Bianca Rosales and Katherine Tanner, both of Green Forest.
