Honors keep coming for Hostetlers

K&K Farms is already back in the spotlight. Less than a month after it was announced that brothers Kevin and Kenyon Hostetler of Green Forest, along with their wives and children, were honored as the Carroll County Farm Family of the Year, Arkansas Farm Bureau announced last week that they had been selected as one of eight families across the state that were chosen for district honors and a shot at the 75th annual Arkansas Farm Family of the Year award, which will be announced Dec.

ES council talks water rate increase

Citizens in Eureka Springs may soon be asked to help offset a rise in the cost the city is having to pay for water service. Michael Akins with the city’s finance department told city council members at a budget session before its June 13 regular council meeting that the subject could be brought to them soon.

County death toll increases to 105

Another COVID-related death was reported in Carroll County, bringing the number of those who have died from complications related to the novel coronavirus to 105. The additional death was accompanied by yet another increase in active cases, with 59 reported Friday, June 17, by the Arkansas Department of Health.

FNBNA plans name change

First National Bank of North Arkansas has announced it will be transitioning from a national charter to a state charter, pending regulatory approval from the Arkansas State Bank Department, and changing its name to Bank of 1889.
