ES golf prepared for coming season

Molly Montez was the girls Class 2A state golf champion in 2015, and her success is drawing more athletes to the Eureka Springs golf team. Seven boys have joined the Eureka Springs golf team, making it the first time in a number of years the Highlanders have had enough members on the team to make it possible to qualify for the state tournament. There aren't enough girls for the Lady Highlanders to qualify as a team, but they can still go to state individually...

Eureka Springs High School student Ashlynn Lockhart will be performing with the National Girl Choir Festival, 'Let Freedom Sing!' in Philadelphia this week. The choir is made up of 100 members representing every state in the union. Lockhart is the only girl selected to represent Arkansas. The Rotary Club of Eureka Springs is sponsoring a back to school shoe distribution in partnership with Samaritan's Feet from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Eureka Springs High School cafeteria. All students who receive free or reduced-price meals in the Eureka Springs, Berryville and Green Forest school districts are eligible to pick up a new pair of shoes. The Rotary Club has 300 pairs of shoes in a variety of sizes. They will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis...
