GREEN FOREST -- A growing number of abandoned dogs in Carroll County have filled both the Berryville and Green Forest kennels beyond maximum capacity -- and the problem continues to bring complaints from the public. "People are dumping their dogs for different reasons," explained Animal Control Officer Verlin Griggs. "It could be that the dog is pregnant and about to have puppies or people are getting to where they can't take care of their pet financially."...

Paul Jackson Jr., a judge for 23 years in the Berryville District Court, died Tuesday at the age of 72. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Berryville Memorial Park.
