The Berryville Lady Bobcats couldn’t have asked for a better start to the 2022 volleyball season. After coming from behind to beat Class 6A Springdale on its home floor in their season opener on Aug. 23, the Lady Bobcats picked up two more victories last week.
Berryville won in three sets Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Gentry, then topped Providence Academy in four sets Thursday, Sept. 1, at Bobcat Gym.
At Gentry, Berryville won 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.
“We’re a work in progress and we keep working the right way,” Berryville coach Kristin Whetham said.
Standouts in the win over Gentry included Kylee Campbell, Kynadee Hopper and Mercy Leviticus, Whetham said.
“We just all played really well,” she said. “We changed game plans on them. They knew Tatiana (Emerson) is a strong hitter, so they moved back a little bit. We got a lot of points on tips. Then when they moved up, we started swinging away. We played really smart.”
Against Providence Academy, Berryville won 25-22, 21-25, 25-10, 26-24.
The Lady Bobcats will host Huntsville on Tuesday, Sept. 6, before traveling to Gravette on Thursday.
