Carroll County’s high school cross country teams have been busy over the past two weekends, competing in meets at Elkins and Siloam Springs. Green Forest sophomore Arauny Reyes took sixth place in the boys 1A-3A division at the Elkins Invitational on Sept.

On the scoreboard, the Greenland Pirates dominated last Friday’s game against Berryville at Bobcat Stadium, scoring touchdowns on all six of their first-half possessions on the way to a 41-7 victory.

The Green Forest Tigers’ bye week came at a good time, coach Greg Tibbitt said last week. After starting the season 0-2 with losses at home to West Fork and on the road at Greenland, the Tigers were ready for some time to regroup.

Berryville volleyball coach Kristin Whetham calls her team a work in progress. To win, Whetham says, the Lady Bobcats have to play with enthusiasm and intensity.

Berryville High School’s boys golf team picked up another tournament victory on Tuesday, Sept. 6, taking first place in an 18-hole, eight-team event at The Highlands in Bella Vista.

Both the Green Forest and Berryville high school cross country teams opened the 2022 season Saturday, Sept. 3, competing in the Shiloh Saints Invitational in Springdale.

Last Friday night’s game at West Fork was the season opener for the Berryville Bobcats, but it was Game No. 2 for the Tigers, who came out ready to play.

The Green Forest Tigers have an open date on Friday, and it comes at a good time after last Friday’s 51-9 loss at Greenland dropped the Tigers to 0-2 this season. The Tigers’ offense continued to show flashes of potential, but Greenland capitalized on turnovers and penalties to limit Green Forest to a field goal by Jesus Romero in the first half.

Berryville’s high school golf team has been on a roll recently, winning the boys division in two of its past three tournaments. On Aug.

The Berryville Lady Bobcats couldn’t have asked for a better start to the 2022 volleyball season. After coming from behind to beat Class 6A Springdale on its home floor in their season opener on Aug. 23, the Lady Bobcats picked up two more victories last week.
