Discount retailer TJ Maxx has leased space in the Berryville Center and plans to open a store there as early as September 2025, according to property owner Jeff Crockett. Crockett, who bought the shopping center in December 2023, said TJ Maxx has signed a 10-year lease with multiple options on the empty spaces formerly occupied by Cato’s, Cox Communications and Payless ShoeSource, as well as some additional space in the center.
Berryville Fire Chief Shannon Chester has retired from his position after more than 30 years with the fire department and more than a decade as chief. Chester submitted his resignation, which was effective Oct.
Tuesday, Oct. 15, is the deadline for Carroll County residents to pay personal property and real estate taxes.
Two of the county’s three school boards have approved their share of the cost to purchase a larger building for the growing Connect Four program that serves the three districts. The building, once home to the Carroll County Chrysler dealership, is next door to the current C4 building on South Main Street in Berryville.
The good news for the Berryville Bobcats is they held Mountain View to 10 points over the final three and a half quarters of last Friday’s season opener at Bobcat Stadium. The bad news is, the damage had already been done.
