Moratorium gets final approval

At its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 20, the Carroll County Quorum Court approved the third and final reading of a proposed ordinance that would impose a moratorium on future industrial wind and solar energy projects in the county.

Gary Allen West, Jr., passed away in his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 51. He was born in Harrison, Arkansas on November 8, 1973, to Gary and Beverley (Thomason) West.

Green Forest teams fall in state tournaments

Green Forest’s startling debut in 4A state soccer ended last weekend at the State Tournament. The injury-plagued Lady Tigers were eliminated by a single goal, then the boys fell 4-2 to Hope High School in the quarterfinals.
