The Eureka Springs Rotary Club has announced the Annual Samaritan’s Feet Shoe Distribution. The club will provide a new pair of shoes to any Carroll County student from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10.
Several Carroll County students graduated recently during spring commencement ceremonies at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Details about the murder of two hikers at Devil’s Den State Park emerged Thursday, July 31, including the fact that Arkansas State Police leaders say the suspect admitted to the crime, and his DNA matches DNA found at the scene.
Hunter Harrell, the Eureka Springs man charged with first-degree murder in a fatal shooting earlier this month in Fort Smith, is scheduled to go to trial in December.
A ServSafe Certified Food Manager Course will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at 9 a.m. at the Cattlemen’s Building at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. The course will cost $140 for new managers, which includes book, class and exam, and $60 for re-certifications, which includes class and exam. Participants who pass the exam will receive a ServSafe Food Manager Certification good for five years. All participants must pre-register and pay by Tuesday, Aug. 5. Class size is limited. Once the Servsafe books are distributed, they are non-refundable.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Berryville Community Center and the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office will host a free presentation titled: “Raising Awareness of Common Scams and Internet Safety” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the community center at 601 Dr. Spurlin Circle in Berryville.
Ten of the 12 claims in a lawsuit filed by a group of property owners challenging a roaduse agreement between Carroll County and a subsidiary of Scout Clean Energy have been returned to circuit court by a United States district judge.

Thomas Kevin Blewett, the 18-year-old Berryville man who is charged with first-degree in the death of 19-year-old Alexzander Drake Bernhardt of Green Forest, entered a plea of not guilty on Monday, Aug. 4, in Carroll County Circuit Court.
