ESSA capital campaign nears completion

A little more than a year ago, the Eureka Springs School of the Arts launched a capital campaign to raise $850,000 for the purchase of property adjacent to the school’s existing campus, located five miles west of Eureka Springs. The expansion will allow ESSA to create a new, safer entrance and improved signage, while also providing flat land for future growth — including additional teaching studios, artist- in-residence spaces, community gathering areas and more.

All-Screens Game Night Friday at library

Calling all tween and teen gamers! Meet at the Berryville Library from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, for All-Screens Game Night. You will have two hours of free rein in the library to play any game that can be played on a screen! Guitar Hero will be on the Playstation, a Wii station will be set up, and all 10 library computers will be available without limits on volume or laughter. This is an evening of fun that teens and tweens won’t want to miss!

It’s a busy month

I’m continually amazed by the amount of numbers and the number of events there are here in Carroll County. September seems to be especially busy, with Agri Days in Green Forest, the Berryville Film Festival, Jeep Jam in Eureka Springs, Pioneer Days in Berryville and the annual induction ceremony for the Berryville Athletic Hall of Fame.

SENIOR CENTER MENUS

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. Please arrive earlier than noon for lunch. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is an $8 charge for those under 60 and $8.50 all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.
