Bright Futures Berryville held its annual Champion Breakfast on Thursday, July 31. Janell Patterson, executive director of the Carroll County Community Foundation was named Champion of the Year. Berryville Machine was named Business Partner of the Year.

Aug. 12 event to focus on scams

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Berryville Community Center and the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office will host a free presentation titled: “Raising Awareness of Common Scams and Internet Safety” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the community center at 601 Dr. Spurlin Circle in Berryville.

Detention Center INTAKE LOG

This listing includes individuals who have been booked into the Carroll County Detention Center. Charges may be reduced or dropped, and individuals are presumed innocent until being found guilty. As of Saturday, Aug. 2, a total of 71 inmates were being housed in the detention center.

ServSafe training offered Aug. 11

A ServSafe Certified Food Manager Course will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at 9 a.m. at the Cattlemen’s Building at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. The course will cost $140 for new managers, which includes book, class and exam, and $60 for re-certifications, which includes class and exam. Participants who pass the exam will receive a ServSafe Food Manager Certification good for five years. All participants must pre-register and pay by Tuesday, Aug. 5. Class size is limited. Once the Servsafe books are distributed, they are non-refundable.
