Celebratory cookout

The American Legion post in Green Forest recently held a cookout for local students who attended Boys State and Girls State this summer. Senior Center menu – July 19-27, 2022

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.

Every four years, the National Intelligence Council provides a forecast of the world for the next 20 years. In March 2021, the council released the latest National Intelligence Forecast. As we could have predicted, the next 20 years looks turbulent. It appears we are living in the best of times, and we need to enjoy our way of life while we can. The future of the world will hinge on whether we allow technology and social media to unite us or divide us. So far, as a society, we are failing in the area of unification. The freedom that the internet allows has spurred some to create division and hate. And I don’t think many of us want to know the evils going on behind the scenes or underground on the World Wide Web.
