Louis John Sabo Sr.

Posted

Louis John Sabo Sr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 5th, 1946. He was the son of his late parents, Ann Zeman and Louis James Sabo. He had two siblings, Frederick Sabo and his sister, LoisAnn Wilson.

Louis proudly served his Country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He then went on to an Aeronautical University, where he became an aviation mechanic working out of Daytona, Florida. Louis later worked as a foreman at ALT steel mill, where he made some of his lifelong friends. He also paid tribute to fellow service members and Veterans as an active member of the American Legion.

Louis moved to Green Forest, Arkansas in 2008, where he enjoyed tending to his farm, and furthering his passion for art. He had a talent for drawing and leather work which was enjoyed by many. He has won several blue-ribbon awards for his drawings in local competitions and has had his artwork displayed on Buffalo River Art Gallery’s annual calendar. You could often find Louis on his front porch playing his banjo, enjoying a glass of whiskey on the rocks, with a cigar, and his dog Blue at his feet.

Louis passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2023, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Vickey Sabo; his two daughters, Heather and Andrea; and his three sons, Ryan, Louis Jr., and Justin.

Louis had a few close friends that meant so much to him and had become like family over the years. He would also like them acknowledged at this time.
