James Rue Douglas, 99, of Lakewood, California, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

He was born March 25, 1925, in Green Forest, Arkansas. He was married to Ella Mae (Dailey) for 62 years.

She preceded him in death February 2, 2008.

He retired after 30 years as an electrician at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed genealogy, working out, woodworking, and was twice California State champion in horseshoes. He was a Purple Heart Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Long Beach, California. He wrote over 100 articles on religion, which he shared with his family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Jim (Joy) Douglas, Jeff (Merri – deceased) Douglas, and many family members. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ray and Gertie Douglas; daughter, Virginia (Steve) Olson; brother, Virgil; and sister, Vinnie. His legacy will live on in the memories he created with family and friends.
