Gregory Leon Smith of Berryville, Arkansas was born November 8, 1960 in Berryville to Sammy and Darlene (Edmondson) Smith. Greg passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 62.
Greg was a 1978 Berryville High School Alumni and attended College of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri. He was employed by Mid-South Dairy Records for 30 years, during that time he also served on the Board of Directors. He judged dairy cattle in many events, cattle was his life. Greg was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed farming and playing baseball in church leagues.
He is survived by his parents, Sammy and Darlene Smith of Berryville, Arkansas; uncles, Joe Summers of Holiday Island, Arkansas, Gerald Summers of Golden, Missouri, Ralph Smith and wife Marian of Berryville, Arkansas, and David Smith and wife Leigh of Shell Knob, Missouri; aunts, Charlene Coombs of Berryville, Arkansas, Larania Reagan of Nixa, Missouri, and Jean Smith of Berryville, Arkansas; several cousins and many friends who will miss him greatly. Greg is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andy and Cleva Smith; maternal grandparents, Roy and Jean Summers; uncle, Jimmy Smith; and cousin, Brad Summers.
Visitation was 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dvid Kline officiating. Interment followed at Williams Cemetery.
