Gary Lynn “Poncho” Youngblood of Berryville, Arkansas was born on September 23, 1941, to Jimmie and Venice (Farmer) Youngblood in Green Forest, Arkansas. Poncho passed away on March 2, 2025, in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 83.
He was a member of Church on The Hill and a volunteer at the Berryville Fire Department serving the community from 19712001. He drove a semi-truck millions of miles hauling grain, cattle, hogs, eggs, and rocks to Johnny Morris before his retirement. Poncho took great pleasure attending Baylea’s sporting events whether she was playing or in her more recent years coaching. He loved to tell jokes, go fishing and hunting. Poncho and his buddies enjoyed meeting up to drink coffee at the feed store, Mc-Donalds, and at the senior center. Poncho had an active social life and will be missed by his many friends and family.
Poncho is survived by daughter, Courtney and husband Tracy Smith of Berryville; granddaughter, Baylea Smith of Berryville; sisters, Frances Ary of Berryville and Joyce and husband Ed Stanphill of Springfield, Missouri.
His in-laws, Donald Mann of Berryville, Elaine and Gary Hudson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sherry and Larry Todd of Cassville, Missouri and Danny and Ilene Mann of Cassville, Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews and other close relatives.
Poncho is preceded in death by his wife, Cliffie Sue Youngblood; his parents, Jimmie and Venice Youngblood; and son, Floy Mark Youngblood; brothers, Hersal, Larry and Earl Dane Youngblood and sister, Freida Powell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Keith Butler officiating.
