Evelina Acuff Long of Berryville was born January 21, 1927, in Tupelo Arkansas to Linsey and Easter (Jackson) Acuff. She died on June 5th, 2026, in Bentonville, Arkansas at the age of 98.
Evelina taught at the Bobo School in Carroll County for a short time. She married Arthur (Tuck) Long on August 10, 1946, and to their union 4 children were born: Jack Long, Jerry Long, Judith Long-Mosley and John Long. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren that she was immensely proud of.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Long-Mosley; her son, John and his wife Betty; her three sisters, Theda, Lavina and Ethel. She has numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ben and Lyman Acuff; her two sons, Jack and Jerry and her husband of 57 years, Arthur (Tuck) Long.
After Tuck and Evelina were married, they moved to their farm on Indian Creek north of Berryville where Evelina continued to reside for almost 79 years.
Evelina was baptized in 1958 and remained faithful as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses until her death. She enjoyed spending many hours every month sharing Bible truths that she loved with others in the community.
Many in the area knew her as the “Sample Lady” at the local grocery stores for several years. She had many talents, such as being a gifted seamstress, gardener, and craft maker. She enjoyed passing these talents on to her children and grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Memorial donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York at donate.jw.org. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral. com
