AllenElzie Eugene Allen went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the age of 85. Born June 16, 1938, to Ernest and Marybell (Gentry) Allen at the family homestead. A piece of land Elzie lived on for the rest of his life. Elzie married his first wife, Darla Sue (Writer) Allen and raised two children.
Elzie is survived by his son, Ricky Allen (Eden) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and daughter, Tammy Maher of Shell Knob, Missouri; grandsons, Joshua Maher (Callie Jo), Allen Maher (Brooke); great-grandchildren, Kiyah, Korah, Levi, Gracie; other family and many friends.
Elzie was preceded in death by first wife, Darla Sue (Writer) Allen; his second wife, Karen Neilson Allen.
A casual celebration of Elzie’s life will be held Monday April 1, 2024, at Lohmer Full Gospel Church, North of Shell Knob from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Followed by a service officiated by Pastor Wayne Writer. Interment will be at a later date at McGuire Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shell Knob Funeral Home.
