Billye Sue Roberts

Posted

It is with profound sadness and yet a celebration of a welllived life that we announce the passing of Billye Sue Roberts, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Billye Sue was born on May 14, 1935, in Yocum, and she departed from this world on August 6, 2024, in her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Billye Sue was the loving heart of her family. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, James Roberts, on her 18th birthday in 1953, and together they built a life full of love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Suellen Butler and her husband Rusty, Louann Smith and her husband Steve, Beth Kimber and her husband Dave and Janelyn Roberts and Roger. Her role as “Ma” was one she cherished above all else, and she extended her motherly love to all who entered her home.

Her parents, Luke and Mary (Wilson) Anderson, welcomed Billye Sue into the world and raised her with the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her grandson, James Elmore; and grandson, Jacob Doss, whose memories she held close to her heart.

Billye Sue’s legacy of love is carried on by her grandchildren, BJ Butler, JR Butler, Buffy Howle and her husband Clint, Phylicia Chaney and her husband Pete, Jerod Doss and his wife Kayla, and the laughter of her great-grandchildren, Billy Jack Butler and Tabby, Hinton Butler, Carson Howle, Claire Howle, Parker Chaney, Piper Chaney, Phorrest Chaney, Prim Chaney, Adalee Doss, Emmarae Doss, Hunter Doss, and Perry Doss.

Throughout her life, Billye Sue’s home was a beacon of warmth and welcome. No one ever left her house hungry or without feeling the touch of her kindness. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her ability to create a space where everyone felt loved will be deeply missed. Billye Sue’s hands were rarely still, and her kitchen was a place of warmth, where meals were not just prepared but were crafted with love and care for anyone in need of comfort.

Her interests were simple yet profound – generosity, kindness, welcoming others and love. These were the pillars upon which she built her life and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She was the embodiment of a loving person, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.

As we mourn the loss of Billye Sue Roberts, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her spirit, her love, and her kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the lives she touched and the love she gave freely and unconditionally.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, at Church on the Hill. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Keith Butler and Joe Fancher officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Rule Cemetery, 1060 CR 802, Green Forest, AR 72638. Arrangements under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com.
