Betty Lou SooterBetty Lou Sooter of Berryville, Arkansas was born June 28, 1933, in Oak Grove, Arkansas to John and Ova (Jones) Peden. Betty passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in Verona, Missouri at the age of 89.
She was united in marriage with Norman Sooter on December 12, 1948. Betty attended Green Forest First Assembly of God. She enjoyed baking, cooking, homemaking, music, playing piano and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Betty was a very hard-working woman. She began working at the Oak Grove Canning Factory at the age of 14, then spent the next 36 years working at the Branson MFG also known as The Garmet Factory, finally retiring from Green Forest Schools after 19 years of being a cafeteria lady. She touched many lives and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her sons, Jimmy Sooter and Tommy Sooter; granddaughter, Melissa Headrick and her husband Clay; grandson, Wes Sooter and his wife Victoria, and great-granddaughter, Olivia Headrick; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded by her parents, John and Ova Peden; husband, Norman Sooter; brothers, Bill, Arlis, Eulys, Carlis “Barley” Peden, and sister, Ethel Minick.
Visitation was 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Green Forest First Assembly of God. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m., following visitation, with Pastor Mark Bryant officiating. Interment followed at Hale Cemetery.
