The Berryville Bobcats scored first and last in their 4A-1 conference opener at Ozark on Friday, Sept. 23.

Several Carroll County golfers have advanced to play in their respective state golf tournaments, with girls state tournaments starting this week. The Berryville Bobcats finished second in the team standings at the 4A-1 conference tournament on Monday, Sept.

Running on his home course, Berryville sophomore Malachi Haughton covered 5,000 meters in 19:05.57 on Saturday, Sept. 24, to win the Class 4A-5A race in the Bobcat Back 40 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds.

It’s a cliche, but sometimes it’s accurate. The Lincoln Wolves defeated the Green Forest Tigers 41-12 in the 4A-1 conference opener for both teams on Friday, Sept.

The Green Forest Lady Tigers earned their fifth victory of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 20, beating visiting Lincoln in five sets.

The Berryville Lady Bobcats dropped a pair of conference games last week after sweeping Green Forest in a nonconference matchup to start the week. After topping the Lady Tigers 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 on Monday, Sept.

The Berryville Bobcats didn’t waste any time taking full control of last Friday’s game against Decatur. Berryville running back Nay Blut returned the opening kickoff inside Decatur territory, then took a shovel pass from quarterback Decimus Ruiz 39 yards for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to set the tone for the Bobcats’ 62-0 victory.

Finishing drives has been a point of emphasis for Green Forest coach Greg Tibbitt throughout his tenure as the Tigers’ head coach. Last Friday at Cedarville, the Tigers practiced what Tibbitt has been preaching.

On paper, it might seem as if the Berryville Lady Bobcats didn’t fare well on the volleyball court last week. But coach Kristin Whetham said she’s pleased with her team’s performance, and it’s progress.

Carroll County’s high school cross country teams have been busy over the past two weekends, competing in meets at Elkins and Siloam Springs. Green Forest sophomore Arauny Reyes took sixth place in the boys 1A-3A division at the Elkins Invitational on Sept.
