The Berryville Bobcats had their best offensive performance in a conference game this season on Friday, Oct. 21, but that wasn’t enough to overcome three second-quarter turnovers as Huntsville defeated the visiting Bobcats 49-28.
Berryville coach Kristin Whetham said the Lady Bobcats’ loss to host Prairie Grove in the first round of the 4A Northwest district volleyball tournament on Monday, Oct. 18, was typical of the entire season.
Berryville sophomore Bella Knapp finished 26th in the girls division at the Lions Thrive Invitational cross country meet hosted by Gravette at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Rogers on Tuesday, Oct. 18, covering the 5,000-meter course in a time of 23 minutes, 46.70 seconds.
For a little more than 43 minutes of game time, Berryville’s Homecoming game against Gravette on Friday, Oct. 14, at Bobcat Stadium was essentially a standoff.
Berryville freshman Malachi Houghton ran a season-best time of 17 minutes, 40.52 seconds over 5,000 meters to place second in the Class 1A-4A boys individual standings at the Prairie Grove Tigers Invitational on Monday, Oct. 10.
Berryville coach Bryan Hutson said Monday that Elkins “came out and hit us in the face,” in last Friday’s game at Elkins. The Elks also hit the Bobcats through the air.
