Attorney: State law won’t affect moratorium
A moratorium on future industrial wind and solar energy projects in Carroll County, which received final approval from the Carroll County Quorum Court on May 20, will not be in conflict with a new state law, deputy prosecuting attorney Steven Simmons told justices of the peace before they voted on the issue.

Suspect faces attempted murder charge after incident at hospital
A Little Rock man faces multiple charges, including attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, after a May 10 incident in which he allegedly attacked a deputy sheriff at Mercy hospital in Berryville, took the deputy’s service weapon and fired two shots before being subdued by a nurse.

SWAT shooting justified, prosecutor says
A Berryville police officer’s actions in the fatal shooting of a Eureka Springs man on May 1 were justified, and no criminal charges against the officer are warranted, Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Rogers wrote in a May 22 letter to the Arkansas State Police.
