State auditors find issues with ES finances
State auditors found a number of issues related to Eureka Springs city finances and record-keeping, according to a report presented to a legislative committee. The Arkansas Legislative Audit division presented reports to the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee Standing Committees on Counties and Municipalities, Educational Institutions and State Agencies on Thursday, May 12.

Berryville School District to serve local beef
Students in the Berryville School District will be served locally grown beef next year. The district board voted during its meeting on May 16 to approve a contract with Green Forest-based 5Hills Ranch to provide beef for the district.

Local death toll now at 104
Two more Carroll County residents have died from complications related to the COVID-19 pandemic in the past week, bringing the local death toll associated with the novel coronavirus to 104. The two additional deaths were the first reported in Carroll County since April 11 and the second-highest weekly death toll since March 21.
