ES council ponders using CAPC money to fund dam project

Dam discussions filled up most of the quick Eureka Springs City Council regular meeting June 27. Coming up with ways to help pay for repairs and improvements to the dam at Black Bass Lake consumed much of the 38-minute meeting at The Auditorium, the majority of time being spent debating whether the City Advertising and Promotion Commission can legally contribute funds to the project.

Protocols return as cases increase

Continuing increases in COVID-19 cases in Carroll County have prompted at least one local hospital to reinstate some of its pandemic protocols. Eureka Springs Hospital CEO Angie Shaw told members of the hospital commission last week that the recent spike has caused the hospital to reinstate some to the protocols it had relaxed, including masks and barriers in certain areas.

ES Hospital mulls transport options

The Eureka Springs Hospital Commission might be ambulance shopping in the near future. At its June 20 regular meeting, the commission heard from Eureka Springs Hospital CEO Angie Shaw about issues with area transport services that are causing major delays in getting patients moved to larger facilities.
