Carroll County Judge Ronda Griffin said Friday, Sept. 23, that she was still considering whether to move forward with the purchase of the former AP&L building on South Main Street in Berryville.

There wasn’t much on the agenda for the Berryville City Council during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20, but council members still found some things to discuss, including some good news for a community institution.

The Berryville School District board on Sept. 19 received what superintendent Owen Powell called exciting news, which could mean big things for students’ mental health.

Staff members in the Green Forest School District should receive some extra compensation in November after a vote by the district board during its meeting Sept. 19.

The Eureka Springs School Board approved its 2022-2023 operating budget during its regular meeting on Sept. 12, and superintendent Bryan Pruitt said it was a group effort.

A state probation and parole officer was issued a citation for second-degree assault after an incident at a Berryville High School football game on Sept. 16, Berryville police chief Robert Bartos confirmed.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.
