Bobcat Band
The Berryville Bobcat Marching Band has ended this marching season with great memories and some hardware to reward the hard work of all involved. The band started the season by attending the Carroll County “Battle of the Bands,” where they earned the outstanding band award.

Writer wins county judge’s race without runoff
David Writer will be the next Carroll County Judge. Writer, currently foreman for the county road department, avoided a runoff by taking 57.7 percent of the vote in a three-man race in Tuesday’s general election.

Carroll County officials said last week that there’s no evidence that any of the county’s electronic data was compromised after a security breach that affected counties across the state. According to Carroll County Judge Ronda Griffin and county clerk Connie Doss, some but not all of the county’s servers operate on a network administered by Little Rockbased Apprentice Information Systems Inc.

Jecker to be new director for BV chamber
The Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the addition of Debbie Jecker as its executive director. Jecker and her husband, Matt, have been residents of Carroll County for about 12 years and have an appreciation for Northwest Arkansas and Carroll County, a news release announcing Jecker’s hiring says.

ES police consulted attorney before closing CAPC probe
The Eureka Springs Police Department closed its investigation into alleged computer trespassing involving the Eureka Springs City Advertising and Promotion commission after consulting with the attorney representing several current and former city officials named as defendants in a lawsuit connected to the CAPC.

SENIOR CENTER MENUS
The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.
