A local historian has finally given voice to a prominent Carroll County native, 90 years after a suspicious elevator accident took the man’s life. Dale Ross, vice president of the Carroll County Historical Society, has written a book titled “A Voice For Ira” that delves into the accident that killed Ira Gurley.
The Berryville High School band recently participated in the state concert band competition sponsored by the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association and hosted by Cabot High School. The band qualified for the competition by earning a superior rating at the regional band competition held in March.
HIPPY, Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, is partnering with the Berryville Public Library to bring a free, fun-filled community event for parents and children ages 2-4 at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20.
The Basin Spring Lodge No. 386 will hold a Masonic Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the corner of Harvey and Tower streets in Eureka Springs. A full breakfast will be served, and proceeds will benefit the Smead Walden Scholarship Fund for Eureka Springs students. Tickets are $6 each.
