Barrows Excavation donates mini-excavator to support Connect 4 training program

Hank Still, HR/safety coordinator, has organized training expos for Connect 4 students, facilitated the donation process for the mini excavator, and actively recruited students from the Connect 4 program for Barrows Excavation Rick Barrows, co-owner of Multi-Craft, has been a key supporter of the Connect 4 program from its inception. In the early stages of development, he contributed significantly by offering discounted rates for the extensive remodeling of the Connect 4 campus, helping to make the facility both functional and welcoming for students. In addition to this, Rick demonstrated his commitment to hands-on technical education by donating $5,500 worth of critical electrical equipment, providing students with the tools and resources needed to gain real- world experience in the electrical trade.

Eats, Beats & Sweets to be held June 21

Join the Friends of the Berryville Library and marquee dponsors Equity Bank and Bank of 1889 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Berryville Community Center for Eats, Beats & Sweets, a fun mid-summer celebration of local talent. Rancho Latino and El Guerito will be providing carnitas, rice, beans, and pico de gallo and The Bookworms and The Highway 13 Band will be providing the live music. There will also be a silent auction that includes gift cards. All proceeds will raise money to support the library.

Youth shooting sports teams from Berryville and Green Forest competed in the Arkansas Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports West Regional Tournament on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, at the Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

SENIOR CENTER MENUS

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. Please arrive earlier than noon for lunch. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is an $8 charge for those under 60 and $8.50 all carryout meals. Menus are subject to change.

Library’s May Meetup highlights H2Ozarks

Meet Stefanie Reynolds and learn how to make our water cleaner together at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the Berryville Library. The Monday Meetup is a monthly program of the Berryville Library designed to spark food for thought while providing an opportunity to meet new people, engage in great conversation about a variety of topics and enjoy free coffee and doughnuts. Stefanie is a program manager at H2Ozarks, a nonprofit that promotes water quality in the Ozarks through education, outreach, research and action projects in Arkansas and Missouri.
