Green Forest had five teams compete in the Youth Entrepreneur Showcase on Friday, Jan. 26.
Each team submitted a business plan for a product that they developed. Teams must identify a problem and their product must solve this problem. They are judged on their solution, innovation, profitability, and marketing.
One Green Forest team, Study Buddies, was selected for the Top 25. Study Buddies are laminated flashcards that can be used, erased, and used again. This reduces waste of old flashcards.
The Study Buddies sets come with 25 reusable flashcards on a binder ring, a Sharpie, cleaning spray, and a “study buddy” (a fuzzy friend to help you study). Every “study buddy” is different. It also comes in a convenient, resealable plastic bag.
Study Buddies went on to compete in the pitch competition against the other Top 25 Teams. Study Buddies won second place overall for business plan writing. Because they placed in the top two teams, they have been invited to participate in a marketplace from 1:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1 at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock.
