Velma Louise Johnson of Berryville was born March 5, 1934, in Earth, Texas to Gilbert and Beulah (Plumlee) Swofford. Louise passed away February 17, 2024, in Berryville at the age of 89.
She attended Antioch Church and was saved at an early age. Louise was a loving wife, devoted mother. She was an active worker around the farm working alongside her late husband, Ervin Johnson, they were Carroll County Farm Family of the year in 1963. Louise was also an avid reader.
Louise is survived by her son, Marty Johnson and Tamara of Berryville; grandchildren, Rachel Hurst and husband Justin, Jennifer Wilson, James Berry; great-grandchildren, Byron Hurst, Lyla Wilson, Kyle Wilson; sister, Bernice Mc-Creary and husband Rex; nieces, Marketa Allen and Vicky Arnall; along with other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Beulah Swofford, and husband, Ervin Johnson.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dale Merideth officiating.
