TJ Maxx leases space for Berryville store

Posted

Discount retailer TJ Maxx has leased space in the Berryville Center and plans to open a store there as early as September 2025, according to property owner Jeff Crockett.

Crockett, who bought the shopping center in December 2023, said TJ Maxx has signed a 10-year lease with multiple options on the empty spaces formerly occupied by Cato’s, Cox Communications and Payless ShoeSource, as well as some additional space in the center.

The space will be renovated, Crockett said, with TJ Maxx aiming to open in September 2025. If that goal isn’t met, Crockett said the store won’t open until the spring of 2026, “They will not open during the Christmas season,” he said.

TJ Maxx was founded in 1976, according to the company’s website, and together with Marshalls forms MarMaxx, “the largest off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S.”
