Green Forest Superintendent Matt Summers confirmed that three students were suspended after a fight at the high school last week.
The fight, which recorded by at least one cell phone, involved numerous students. The 23-second video shows students running out of a building and at least three different altercations occurring before school employees — and what appeared to be some students — attempt to separate the individuals involved.
The video shows a female school employee being knocked to the ground while trying to break up part of the scuffle. The employee sustained only a scrape to her hand, according to Summers.
No police or medical assistance was required, Summers said.
“Anytime you have any physical violence it’s a little be disconcerting,” Summers said. “There were all kinds of rumors.
“Were we concerned in the moment? Absolutely. Anytime you’ve got physical harm going you’ve got a problem. But it was resolved rather quickly that morning and three students were suspended due to their actions.”
