Berryville junior Emma Taylor got the Lady Bobcats off to a good start in a road game at Elkins on Thursday, April 13, stroking a two-run home run in the first inning to set the tone for a 6-3 victory.
Taylor’s blast made it 2-0 with one out in the third and the Lady Bobcats added another run on an Elkins error.
Elkins scored twice in the bottom of the first but Berryville got some breathing room with three runs in the top of the fifth — two on errors and one on a groundout.
Taylor and senior Ava O’Gorek each had two hits and scored twice for the Lady Bobcats.
Bailey Skelton pitched six innings in relief of starter Kynadee Hopper, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four batters and walking two.
Berryville is scheduled to play at Green Forest on Thursday.
