The Berryville High School band participated in the Annual Dale Bumpers Marching Invitational held on the campus of Charleston High School on Saturday Oct. 7.
The band was scored on their music performance, marching ability and overall effect of their competition show. They also received comments and scores for percussion, color guard and drum major.
The band received a score of 89.2, which earned them a superior first division rating and third place overall out of the 25 bands participating.
The band also earned superior ratings for color guard, percussion and drum major. The band also took home the prize for the highest general effect score of the day. The first-place band was Waldron High School, earning a 93.5.
“This is a huge win to start the bands competition season earning seven trophies at our first competition,” band director Doug Blevins said.
