Suspect flees GF police

Posted

Carroll County Sheriff Daniel Klatt said in a news release Monday that an unknown suspect fled from Green Forest police after an attempted traffic stop on Sunday, Nov. 2.

According to a news release issued by Klatt, Green Forest police attempted to make a traffic stop on a white Ford Expedition. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued, the news release said. The vehicle turned off of County Road 811 onto County Road 844, the news release said, before the driver exited the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Green Forest police chief John Bailey said the Expedition rammed a Green Forest police car three times during the pursuit.

Klatt said that authorities had not yet identified the suspect.

“We have no reason to believe that this individual is a threat to the public,” the news release said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 870423-7373 or the Green Forest Police Department at 870-438-5517. Callers can remain anonymous.
