Students deserve kudos

Iwant to start off this month’s Bobcat Buzz by celebrating some of our awesome students! First, Berryville High School senior Gisselle Estrada was chosen to represent North Arkansas College at the state Skills USA competition in Hot Springs. Congratulations to Ms. Estrada!

We are also excited to announce that several students will graduate high school this May with certificates from North Arkansas College. This is the first group from Berryville High School to be eligible to walk in the college graduation ceremony and receive certificates.

Eligible students are Brant Armer, Jeremiah Bottoms, Justin Chapin, Ben Heinitz, Trenton Hughes, Cole Maliska, Kevin Reyes and Brenden Warren. They will receive certifications in workforce technology, welding applications and procedures, and general technology. Join us in celebrating these students and the fantastic work of the Connect 4 program! Thank you to James Knight and Jennifer Winkle for the work they do for our students at C4.

Parents and guardians, it’s ACT Aspire assessment month! This is a great opportunity for students to demonstrate everything they have learned throughout this academic year. Last year, many of our students showed tremendous growth and we are expecting even better results this year.

Please partner with us to help your child do their very best on this assessment. Getting plenty of sleep, eating breakfast, and being in attendance each day are three things that will help your child during testing. High School will be testing April 18 and 19, Middle School is scheduled for April 18-20, and Intermediate School will test April 25-28. Students showing growth and/or proficiency on these assessments will be recognized and rewarded for their hard work.

Speaking of hard work, let’s not forget about our staff members. April 26 is Administrative Assistants Day and we have the best! Amanda Scitern (administration office), Allison Tennant (facilities office), Wendy McClellan (high school), Beth Hoos (middle school), Carla Tuttle Bailey (intermediate), and Jannea Howze-Chaney (elementary). These ladies go above and beyond for the district every single day.

Remember to keep up with us on social media and our website. We share tons of information online, including event schedules and recognitions. Go Bobcats!
