Carroll County 4-H members shine in state competition
Six Carroll County 4-H members, along with Monty Rexwinkle, Ag/4-H Agent, and Torrie Smith, FCS/4-H Agent, recently traveled to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to participate in the Arkansas 4-H State Conference and competitions, known as State O’Rama.
The 4-H members who attended were Allie Graber, Duncan Patterson, Jason Mc-Cullough, Katelyn Rexwinkle, Olivia Kossmann and Trenton Kelley.
Members competed in a variety of events including Veterinary Science Talks, Gun Safety, Wildlife, Performing Arts, Human Development Talks, ATV Safety, and Consumer Decision Making. Three individual 4-H members earned top honors in their contests, while two individuals and one team placed second in their respective competitions.
Katelyn Rexwinkle placed first in Veterinary Science Talks. Jason McCullough earned first place in Gun Safety. Duncan Patterson took first place in ATV Safety and second place in Wildlife. Olivia Kossmann earned second place in Performing Arts-Vocal. Allie Graber placed fifth in Human Development Talks. The Consumer Decision Making Team — compoxed of Allie Graber, Olivia Kossmann and Katelyn Rexwinkle — placed second.
Andrew Rexwinkle was also recognized during the awards ceremony as an Advanced Record Book winner with his Animal Science Record Book. This prestigious honor includes a paid trip to attend 4-H National Congress in Atlanta this fall.
