There are no secrets to the Berryville Lady Bobcats’ success this season: Berryville depends heavily on its perimeter game offensively.
Sometimes, the shots are falling for the Lady Bobcats and sometimes, they aren’t.
Last week, the shots weren’t falling as Berryville lost on the road at Gravette by a score of 70-22 on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and at home to Pea Ridge, 58-38, on Friday, Jan. 13.
Berryville came out shooting the ball well against Pea Ridge, getting out to an 18-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. But the Lady Bobcats scored just four points in the second quarter and five in the third.
“We did a lot of things right offensively,” Berryville coach Daniel Cornelison said. “I was really proud of how the girls executed and did things offensively. I felt like we got really quality looks throughout the entire game. Shots just didn’t fall for us. When shots fall, we have really good chances because we’re really reliant on our perimeter play. So when they go in, good things happen. I feel like we took great shots. I thought we really moved the ball well and did a lot of stuff right. Just the ball didn’t go through the basket.”
