Youth shooting sports teams from Berryville and Green Forest competed in the Arkansas Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports West Regional Tournament on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, at the Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Two Berryville senior teams qualified for the state tournament, with the Cross Eyed Chickens taking second place and the Fuzzy Monkeys taking fifth place in the regional. Six Berryville shooters finished among the top 20 out of 551 individual shooters: Jaret Standlee, Andy Andreski, Cooper Adams, Mason Zogleman, Chloe Cherry and Colter Goforth.

Berryville also had two junior teams qualify for the state tournament, with the Gloomers to Boomers taking second place and the Piggy Poppers taking eighth place in the regional tournament. Berryville’s Avery Smith and Chris Robinette placed among the top 20 out of 445 total shooters.

Green Forest’s senior team qualified for the state tournament by taking eighth place in the regional tournament.

Green Forest’s junior team qualified for the state tournament by placing 15th in the regional tournament, with Gavin Tharp finishing seventh among individual shooters.

The state tournament was held Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31.
