Sherman Fay Ross, JrSherman Fay Ross, Jr. was born March 12, 1948, in Marysville, California to Sherman Ross and Muriel Meadlin Ross. He departed this life Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 75.
Sherman retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He worked as a custodian at Berryville Schools for several years. He retired to stay at home with family and friends where he enjoyed fishing and traveling.
On August 3, 1996, he was united in marriage to Frances Garner Ross who survives him of the home. He is also survived by four children, Rick Ross of Garfield, Arkansas, Chris (Shelly) Ross of Newport, Arkansas, Jackie (Jerry) Magee of Berryville, Arkansas and Michael Mallett of Richmond, Virginia. Grandchildren, Megan (Clay) Choate, Justin Ross, Bailey Ross, Brianna (Michael) Fields, Dalton Ross, Matthew Ross, Tori Ross, Ethan Blevins, and Abbie Blevins. Five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Sherman gave his life to the Lord and was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He and Frances were children’s church ministers for 12 years. Sherman loved kids and they all loved him. He will be missed greatly.
His is proceeded in death by his parents, Sherman and Muriel Ross; two brothers, Homer Ross and Harold Ross; two sisters, Beverly Ross Stacey and twin sister, Sharon Ross.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Billy McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Farmer Cemetery.
