With the Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center in need of emergency funding, the City of Berryville is partnering with the center to host a Holiday Open House Fundraiser.
The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the senior center, located at 202 W. Madison Ave., directly behind the Berryville Square next to the library.
The family-friendly event is free and open to all ages and will feature a silent auction, games, music, family activities, and holiday cheer. Donations of any amount will be accepted throughout the evening as the center works to reach a $1,000 fundraising goal.
“When we at the City became aware that the Senior Center was in need of help, we knew we wanted to step in and support them using the resources we have available,” said Julia D. Borkowski, community engagement director for the City of Berryville. “That’s when I sat down with their director and we decided to co-host a Holiday Open House Fundraiser to bring the community together in support of this vital resource.”
The Carroll County Senior Center operates as part of Our Healthy Communities (OHC), a nonprofit serving Benton, Carroll and Washington counties. The Center serves as an important gathering place and support system for older adults in the community.
The City of Berryville encourages the public to attend, donate if able, and help support the Senior Center during this holiday season.
