Young and undersized, the Berryville Lady Bobcats saw their 2023 volleyball season come to an end with a loss to Clarksville on Monday, Oct. 16, in the first round of the 4A-Northwest District Tournament.
With 10 sophomores on this season’s roster, coach Kristin Whetham said she expected this to be a rebuilding system for Berryville. The Lady Bobcats, typically blessed with good height along the front row, were smaller this season.
“We didn’t have the big girls at the net that you need to score,” Whetham said. “On the flip side, with our small team, I thought we played really good defense. I thought we were very competitive. We stayed in the ballgames that we should have stayed in.
