School graduation dates set for May 2025

Posted

Graduation dates for high schools in Carroll County have been set.

The Berryville, Eureka Springs and Green Forest school boards have approved dates for commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2025.

Green Forest High School will kick off the graduation season with a ceremony on Friday, May 9, breaking a trend of all three districts having ceremonies on the same weekend.

“I know the other two schools are doing it the week after….,” Green Forest Superintendent David Gilmore said. “There were some things that factored into it for our board. May 16 for us is currently the last day of school and that’s when graduation would’ve fell on, if we had pushed it a week back. So, we didn’t know if the last day of school would be too hectic.

“And then, we have a very competitive soccer team and the soccer tournament starts on May 15, so we figured there’d be a conflict there with some of our kids not being able to be here for graduation if we did it on the 16th.”

The weekend following Green Forest’s graduation, Eureka Springs High School will hold its commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Highlander Gym.

Berryville High School will then conclude the trio of graduations with its traditional Sunday ceremony at 3 p.m on May 18.
