Reyes wins 3,200 at Harrison meet

Green Forest’s Arauny Reyes won the boys 3,200-meter run at the Rosson Invitational on April 11 in Harrison, finishing in a time of 10:38.67.

Reyes finished second in the 1,600-meter run. On the girls side, Green Forest junior Lydia Russell competed in six events and finished among the top three in four of them. Russell took second pace in the 100-meter dash, the 300-meter hurdles and the triple jump. She finished third in the 100-meter hurdles.

Berryville’s Oliver Beamis took third place in the 400-meter dash and teammate Malachi Houghton was third in the 3,200-meter run.

Sophomore Kaylyn Smith led the Berryville girls, taking third place in the triple jump and fourth in both the 400-meter dash and the high jump. Junior Sophee Bartos finished fourth in the discus.

In the junior high Rosson Invitational on Tuesday, April 9, Berryville’s Alexis Pittman won the girls 400-meter dash in a time of 1:10.73. Pittman took fourth place in the pole vault and fifth in the long jump. Teammate Kinly Smith won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet and took second place in the discus. Laykin Talley was second in the high jump and third in the long jump. Dalielah Kesler finished second in the pole vault.

Berryville’s John Butler won the boys long jump at 19 feet, 7 inches, and the triple jump at 37-6 and finished second in the 100-meter dash. CT Hicks took first place in the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches and finished third in the 800-meter run. Hudson Norris won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 46.10 seconds. Carson McMellon finished second in the 1,600-meter run.

Green Forest’s Avaley Gardner won the girls 100and 300-meter hurdles in times of 18.21 and 5293 seconds, respectively. She finished fourth in the long jump. Teammate Mistie Hughes won the pole vault at 6-6.

Yway Hay Moo put on a show for the Green Forest boys, winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes in times of 11.88 and 24.52 seconds. He also won the 110-meter hurdles (16.80) and finished second in the long jump and fourth in the high jump. Kason Compton won the shot put at 39 feet, 3 inches and DJ Rang won the pole vault at 9-0.

Shar Shee Doh Moo was second in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the triple jump. Brandon Perez finished third in the 400-meter dash and the triple jump, fourth in the 100 and fifth in the 200. Grady Massengale was third in the discus and fifth in both the 800 and the 1,600. Silas Sparkman finished third in the shot put. Kier Lah was fourth in the discus.
