The annual Rat Race was held Saturday, June 24, in Green Forest with 348 participants taking part despite extra- warm temperatures.
The race, presented each year in memory of Navy SEAL Tommy Ratzlaff, benefits the non-profit Ratzlaff Legacy Foundation. Proceeds and donations are used to fund scholarships and the Good Grief Program at area schools. The Good Grief Program is a support group for kids who have lost a parent or primary caregiver.
This year’s Ratzlaff Legacy Foundation Scholarship recipients — Parker Smith, Rosemary Ochoa and Alonzo Rangel — all participated in Saturday’s race.
