Rancho Latino owners honored for community spirit

Posted

The Friends of the Berryville Library presented the Carla Youngblood Community Spirit Award to Rancho Latino owners Marion and Alma Diaz on Monday, Aug. 19.

Mario and Alma started their business on the Berryville Public Square before moving to a bigger location just outside the square. Rancho Latino is a community hub for information, communication services and the Greyhound bus stop. It’s the place to shop for items from home and send money to loved ones.

Mario and Alma are active in volunteering at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and help to raise money and awareness for causes within the Hispanic community and its families. Find the perfect cut of meat for your barbecue and chat with Mario, and find all the know-hows with Alma.

The Carla Youngblood Community Spirit Award recognizes community members for acts of kindness that have bettered the community. Carla Youngblood, a longtime employee of the library who retired in 2019, was well known for her many acts of kindness.
